About Brookside

Our story began in 1957 when a zealous group from Highland Bethel sought something more for their community. They purchased the Griswold family farm with a vision of a place where faith and fellowship could flourish. This act was the inception of what would soon become a beacon of hope and spirituality in the North East Corner of Fort Wayne.

Through decades of growth and change, Brookside evolved from meeting in a simple farmhouse to building a sanctuary on Saint Joe Road and eventually moving to its current location on a sprawling 26.5-acre plot dedicated in 1975. The church adopted through several denominational shifts, starting as Egli Amish, becoming Defenseless Mennonites, then Evangelical Mennonites, and ultimately joining the Fellowship of Evangelical Churches in 2003. Each transformation was a step forward, broadening its theological horizons and community reach.

Pastor Eric Dubach, who has led Brookside since 2014, is the sixth pastor to guide this congregation. Under his leadership, the church has continued to be a place of refuge and spiritual growth for the community. Brookside stands ready to continue weaving its unique, vibrant story into the future.
